Live Healthier, Stronger, Happier, Longer

Encouraging clients since 1994

About Me:

I began my fitness career in 1992 as a part-time aerobic instructor at Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Fit-For-Life during which time I obtained several certifications in various fields in the fitness industry. My love for teaching and encouraging class participants created in me the desire to pursue an education in exercise design and implementation. I received my personal trainer certification in 1993 through the American Council on Exercise (ACE)and in February 1994, I left the monotony of the corporate world to be a full-time fitness professional.

I gained employment at SportsLife in Duluth, Ga that February and began training several professional and collegiate athletes. Unfortunately, because of the nature of their careers, they had to report back to their respective teams/towns in June so their training with me was short term. However, the experience I gained during those few months opened doors on a high school athletic level.

In July, 1994, I secured a position at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Ga as their strength and conditioning coach as well as cheer and dance coach. In addition, I also taught weight lifting, cross training, and assisted the physical education department with the Presidential Physical Fitness program. Meanwhile, I continued teaching group fitness classes at Fit-For-Life.

In March, 1997,Cory Everson's Aerobics and Fitness offered me the position of Head Trainer, Assistant Manager, as well as teaching aerobic classes, so I left Lakeview Academy to pursue this new opportunity. I continued in this capacity until July 2000, wherein I took a position with BodyPlex as the Fitness Director for their new facility they were opening in Oakwood.

My long-term dream had always been to own my on fitness facility and in January, 2000 I decided to leave BodyPlex and pursue this dream and in June 2001 HealthQuest Personal Training, Inc. was born.

I opened a 2000sq. ft. training studio in August, 2001 and quickly out grew it. I moved to a 5000sq. ft. space in January 2003 where I remained until August 2010 when a combination of ongoing illnesses and the slow economy made it necessary to close.

I am currently training clients at Legacy Family Fitness & Fight Club in Buford, Ga.
